East Valley Water District Members are committed to being a good steward of their resources. Water conservation is of paramount importance to East Valley Water District and the agricultural community at large. The effectiveness and sustainability of present and future water supplies depend on our ability to use our resources wisely. Most district members have invested significant time and resources into water efficient systems. Kraemer’s Nursery in Mount Angel is a great example of combining technology with exceptional water management practices for efficiency.  Kraemer’s uses six on-site ponds to recirculate and reuse water through gravity and pump stations. To further improve efficiencies, they use two Toro Sitepro Systems to manage the water use for total system efficiency. The system is able to calculate the flow of water based on the growing needs, changing the valve sequence based on the needs of the system. Thus, reducing the probability over-watering or water waste.

District members use different means to deliver, use, and reuse water. Some members use ditch systems to deliver and/or reuse water to different areas of their property. If you are near the District’s service area, and see running water during the irrigation season, there is a high likelihood that water will be collected for reuse elsewhere. The District is very proud of its members efforts to using water wisely and investing in efficient systems for our present and future water supply.
